Pastoral Staff
By God’s grace, I was born into a Christian family. My grandfather served as a pastor in Shantou, China and became a missionary in West Borneo, Indonesia. My parents taught and guided us to walk in God’s ways. I accepted Jesus Christ when I was in the middle school and began to serve God in our Youth fellowship.
At the age of 17, during a revival meeting, I responded to God’s call to serve Him as His servant. However, shortly after that moment, I lost sight of it, and it wasn’t until five years later, during a Sunday service, that God spoke to me one more through a pastor’s message.
I am grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to receive education from four theological seminaries: Aletheia Theological Institute in Indonesia, Singapore Bible College in Singapore, International Theological Seminary, and Logos Evangelical Seminary, both located in Los Angeles. God has also given me the opportunity to serve Him as a pastor since 1987.
My wife, Susana, and I have been married since 1988, and God has blessed our marriage with two children, Helena and Christian. Our daughter Helena is married to Alex and the Lord blessed them with two children.
It is God’s grace that I can join LCBC to serve God together. I believe, with church leaders and congregations who faithfully develop God's kingdom, LCBC will continue to shine for God in the darkness and be a channel of His blessing in the world, especially to the communities surrounding the church.

Deacons
Deacon Hartono Purnama
I was ordained as a deacon at the Indonesian Baptist Church on January 26, 1997. I was born in Indonesia in a non-Christian family. My father was a strong Buddhist man who hated believers. Through a good Christian friend and church’s sport activities, I was introduced to Jesus Christ, and was then baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Jakarta at the age of 16. Since then, I
served the Lord in many different areas, wherever God led me to. In Luke 18:1, Jesus said, “Pray always and never give up.” After praying for 16 years, my father was finally saved and was a faithful Christian until he passed away in 2016. I have been married to my wife, Nancy, since 1988. She is a very devoted Christian and serves as much as possible and wherever needed. We have two children, Christopher and Audrey. I am very thankful that both of my kids and wife are actively involved in the ministry. As Joshua 24:15 says: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” |
Deacon Agus Tjiptamustika
I was raised in a Christ centered home where my parents taught and lived out their faith in front of their kids. My parents continuously taught and encouraged spiritual growth. I have had the opportunity to watch my parents as they faithfully follow God’s lead. I was ordained as a Deacon in November 2013. My purpose in life is to serve the Lord full heartedly. Besides singing, I also enjoy praying and reading spiritual and inspirational works. I like to find a quiet place and have an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and listen to His voice for guidance. In order for me to have a balance life between ministry and family, I always plan a family vacation at least once a year. I love spending quality time with my wife, Kimberley, my son, Dillon, and my daughter, Novia. During our free time, we enjoy hiking, bowling, and many other outdoor activities.

Deacon Sukardi TaminI was born in Indonesia and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1993. After, I joined Life Change Baptist Church in 1996 and was ordained as a Deacon in 2005. I am married to a loving wife and blessed with two wonderful children.
Two of my favorite verses: Joshua 24:15 – “…But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my Shepherd…” Deacon Jonathan Chang |
Deacon Maoe Kian TjoeI came to the US from Indonesia as a student. Since 1979, I worked as an Engineer for CCSF for thirty years. Despite success in family and work, I felt life was empty with no purpose while living as an atheist. A friend brought me to church in 1995. Within six months, I placed my faith in Jesus Christ and devoted my life to Him. By God's grace, I also brought my family along with several siblings and their families to the Lord; over twenty of us were baptized within that same year. I experienced internal peace and joy after my conversion. Since then, I dedicate my life to the Lord by loving and serving Him. In 1999, LCBC ordained me as a deacon. Currently, I live in San Francisco with my wife Lila. We have two sons, a daughter, and five grandchildren.
